Written about 8 months prior to the coronavirus. Already an underlying challenge in today's society, "Connection" has been further stressed with "Social distancing".
This week’s yoga theme...“connecting”...to the lake, our breath, our bodies...to each other.
Connection: the quest for human belonging and courage to stand alone.
This week's goal is to put yourself out there... Don't let fear run your life. Your connection to others is always being tested. In today's technology driven society, face-to-face connection is decreased. As a result of this, emotions are being lost.
During this week force yourself to try to connect with others. Live in the moment. Look at social media less. Call a family member or friend. Plan a picnic or go on a walk with a friend or family. Bring cookies to your neighbor. Be mindful, be present. Push yourself out of your comfort zone. Don't let others control you.
Your breath connects your mind to your body. As you go through this week, take time to do 3 deep breaths 4 times a day. While you are doing this try to slow your mind and be awake of your breath and body. Focus on your inhale through nose and exhale through mouth.
